Fallas

Art

I have always painted but in the past five years or so, it has become more and more important to me. I paint in acrylics and love the bright, vivid colours you can achieve with the medium. I also love there is no limit to what you can produce with just a brush and tube of paint and very little else. Recently I have been working on a looser, more relaxed style and concentrating on vibrant flower studies. I love the bright colours and playing about with different hues and colour combinations that really sing when they are put together. My aim in my work is to create little panels of happiness that bring a smile to your face!

My name is Deborah Fallas and I originally came to the Borders to study at the Scottish College of Textiles in the late eighties, and apart from a short break, have stayed here ever since.

Drawn and painted in the Scottish Borders        deborahfallas@outlook.com

I love animals of all kinds and the Scottish landscape and so am constantly inspired by whats around me. My work is generally painted from my own photographs and sketches. I love the colours and intensity of working in acrylics and when I'm painting animals, I try hard to capture their individual personalities.  When working on landscpes, quite often I'm inspired by a particular color and how it sits in the scene. I also love a big dramatic ominous sky!
